After playing Vonwert's "Whispers in the Woods", I suddenly became inspired to create my own horror game for RPG Maker 3.

Robin Barius, a young child that lives in the town of Altin, resides in a beautiful manor with his loving parents. With a loving family and an enormous home, Robin seemingly had the perfect life. However, after a disturbing murder is reported in the newspaper, Robin feels reluctant to leave anyone's side, or even leave his own home... When Robin is sent to bed, he refuses to sleep, due to sheer horror from the deathes in the papers. When Robin finally falls asleep, he is awaken immediately by the sound of windows crashing. When a terrified Robin enters his parents' room, he finds both of them brutally massacred. Robin, in complete panic, runs out of the mansion for help, only to find that his hometown has become strangely empty. Robin leaves the town into the dangerous mountains in search of assistance or the answer to if the murderer of his parents was the same as the one in the newspaper. But what awaits Robin outside the safety of Altin could scar him for life...

Includes:
-No random battles
-Traps that must be avoided or Robin's health will decrease
-Potions and herbs will heal Robin from booby traps
-Plenty of scares...
-Many puzzles
-Several different endings

If anyone likes this story, then I'll post the demo up on the RPG Maker Pavilion. :)

Vonwert certainly did a good job with his "Whispers in the Woods."

Question about your game:
If your health decreases when you hit several booby traps, does that mean that once your health reaches a certain point, after a certain number of booby traps, that you will die? This might be a bit hard to script, but if you do it carefully with variables, it might be possible.

It sounds interesting. Why don't you post your demo here too?

The only way you can do the health is by variables. You could add a book stand here and there that could tell how much health you have left and if you are feeling ambitious, you can even add how many traps the player has sprung.

Uhh... Actually, I was just going to give my main character a class and start him off with 100 HP. As for the traps, when he hits a trap, he will lose, say, 20 HP. When your health reaches zero, you die.

I haven't tested it in RPGM3, but I know in RPGM1 you can't have it activate a game over event by doing that.

It might work in 3, but I wouldn't think so. Try it and see if it works. But if it doesn't, just use variables. Not hard. Just add 3 health points, and you can get items that give more health. But be sure to caculate those health boosts in when making traps.
