Let's Play "Fu-Fu The Acid Trip Bunny" World 2: Genshi Castle

We take the train out of the city, and head to the lake. Unfortunately, we soon find out that that's not normal water.

A quick recap, since it's been a few weeks. Rather than doing this LP, myself, I am taking the role of Erika the rabbit, because this game stars Fu-Fu the rabbit. Fu-Fu was a class pet that got drugged up by some punk kids trying to hide the acid the school coach saw them with. It was an overdose, and now he has to find the three Z Emblems to wake up from his comotose state, or else the Japanese God, Akujin Genshi, will kill him. The game is a platformer. The goal is to collect all the carrots, but avoid the death heads.

Now you're caught up. We resume the LP.

We travel through space, beat the tar out of Akujin, and say goodbye to our rabbit friends. But wait... what is this big surprise that's spoken of towards the end?

@#$% I forgot to switch back over the recording source for the next LP! So after all that work recording the special stuff and the LP, it turns out that I RECORDED NO COMMENTARY AT ALL! >_< I even made a mental note the other day to remember to check if the program was picking up anything. Well, so much for that.

Seems like EVERYONE is having LP trouble lately. I know I am as well... this includes a file bloating it's self over 500meg and my screen recorder just getting rid of half an hour of video. Not sure why either. Took me forever to get around that.

Heh. Thought it failed. Just turned out it took its sweet time appearing on my page.

Is this a video game or a movie? Well, at least the game part is fun. And so is that custom stage.



And so ends the SD Paradise LP. What you guys think? And also, any of you play that "Golden Pearl" game I linked to in the first LPisode of this?

I thought the game was pretty good for RPG Maker 2. I haven't really played that many yet, so I don't really have much of a rule of thumb yet. The story was alright, minus the plethora of grammar and spelling errors, and the only real major glitch is having to reset the game if you get caught in a corner of the mini-games.

Honestly though, all the screen transitions could have been helped with a little extra effort and would have made things look much nicer. But outside of that, for a non-RPG RPG Maker game... it was good. As long as World 1 took, it would have been a rather long game if he were to have finished it. Also, I enjoyed your commentary. Your little skits and such were also quite enjoyable.

About Golden Pearl, I thought it was okay. Pretty much seems like just another game to kill 20 minutes like the multitude you can find on newgrounds. I did have a problem with all your bullets dissapearing every time you hit the boss. You had to be right up aginst any boss to deal any type of decent damage... and the final boss took forever because you couldn't sit right next to the target you had to hit. Also, I glitched the music at one point and had proto man's theme playing for the entire next level until the boss.

You have to keep in mind that SD Paradise was a first-gen attempt with RM2. It came out in 2003 and pretty much owned everything at the time.

Well, outside of Dave's other RPGM2 titles, the only two RPGM2 games I've played are Untamed Madness and Link's Adventure. One was nigh unplayable and the other you guys already know about. So SD Paradise pretty much owns all RPGM2 titles I've played, anyway.

Let's Play With Zombies! Ep1 - Knight to Pawn

At last, it's time for another new LP! And this one may be the most awesome and epic one, yet! Time to deal with some zombies... sorta. The setting of the game is established in this episode, and our hero is given a Presidential mission. But, oh, if he had any idea what was in store for him....

Ha, good stuff. I'd make a long post about it all, but I left pretty much everything I'd say as comments in the video.

Hey, guys, I've got a good question for you. With previous games, I wound up editing out repeat battles. I'm wondering if it should still be that way, with me only showing a couple battles, and most every other battle gets phased out and the majority of the episode be just exploration and story. Maybe I should show them all, or maybe I should put them on fast-forward instead of cutting them out completely. With games like this, once I figure out a strategy, each battle winds up playing out the same way, so I'm not sure. What do you guys think?

I'd honestly just leave it up to you. I'm going to watch either way. Yeah, you fit more content in each vid, but we'll miss out on level ups and such. So just whatever you prefer, really.

Let's Play "The Spiteful Dead" Ep2 - Knight to Pawn, part II

It's a trap! A.k.a. "the nightmare episode".

The last episode established the setting, this episode establishes the plot and action. Robert Miguelle has survived the elevator, but now he must survive an onslaught of battles as he makes his way to the rooftop to shoot the President. To his surprise, once he reaches the top, a girl is there waiting for him.

This episode was a nightmare on all counts. Recording it, I failed to find that I had a special ability to fights, I failed to figure out the plot twist midway through the episode despite its obviousness, and I had to come to terms with the fact that I was going to have to split the episode into two parts. Editing it, I found that my capture device suffered from serious lag, and that it refused to work on a particularily orange screen, and I had to do a lot of editing to make it come together properly.

Hopefully, it was worth it.
