Dyne speaks the truth.

RobhR's story about the dude at the cat shelter reminds me exactly of what really irritates me whenever I have helped my mother do some kind of chore around the house. She uses vague instructions or just points in a general direction where I can't possibly tell exactly what it is she wants me to get, and then gets a pissy tone with when I get it wrong, like: "Bradley! I SAID - !"

(She still calls me by my middle name Bradley, and she knows I hate it.)

But no, I was supposed to read her mind and understand that she was asking me to get actually get the BOX (a, you know, box-shaped object used for storage with a lid) off the top closet shelf for her instead of the actual BAG (a storage object with handles and the general shape of a damn bag) when it she called it "the BAG" that she wanted me to retrieve in the first place. I respond, "why the hell did you want me to get the box when you told me to get the bag and there is a bag in the general vicinity of the box?"

So I totally sympathize with RobhR having to work with a dude like this, especially after hearing the "PICK IT UP, I said" thing. That's just ridiculous. You made the freaking bin available to him; who cares what physical motion you actually made in the so-doing, whether it is an actual act of picking it up or sliding it over with your foot? It accomplished his purpose of being able to obtain it. Does he expect you to also bow deeply and say "Oh, yes! Right away, Master! I live to serve only you!" while you are at it?

This kind of crap should especially not happen when this isn't even a job in which you are getting paid, but you are volunteering for out of the kindness of your dumb old heart.

(Yes, I picked up that last little phrase out of the famous hotel room scene from Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.)

I just had the silly idea of, "What would be good Mag slogans for T-shirts?"

The first that came to mind was Lantis's, "You goalie! Why you gotta be such a goalie!" from the second Rocket League video.

Since I think 2008, a dozen or so of us have been meeting up in person once a year for a weekend to hang out and play video games and stuff. We plan it for March each year, and it's usually a pretty great time.

Magcon is a legal dong, neighbourhood of the Seodaemun-gu district in Seoul, South Korea and is governed by its administrative dong, Cheonyeon-dong's office. There are in the Historic Sites "Dongnimmun (Independence Gate)" and Yeongeunmunjucho (Plinths of Yeongeunmun Gate).

Oh alright that's awesome. I may join you one year assuming I become a valuable member of this community. And have money to travel.

That's really cool.

To this day that has to be number one on the list of dumbest sounding names for something in an RPG.

What was that from, again? ToS2?

Yes. That brilliant game. Definitely a top 5 RPG.

I'm talking about a thing from Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. It's also spelled differently. Apparently different video games have different places. I was surprised when I found this out.

In that case it may be rooted in mythology somewhere. Quite possibly Norse since both Tales and Etrian Odyssey draw a lot from it.

Working at Dr. Pepper has turned me into a drone. .... An oddly content one amidst the horribly oppressive atmosphere. ... I wonder what they're slipping into our samples for sensory testing to make us slowly lose our individual wills over time. O_o

... Also, I had to listen to Nikki Minaj, Rhianna, and some dumbass R&B beats I have heard before but whose artists I don't recognize for the last four hours of my shift tonight thanks to Jamie's radio. And now I hate her for it.

I also find it interesting that I was forbidden by Nancy to play music from my phone on Tuesday and Thursday nights, and yet I had to hear all of this awful repetitive music about black men artists pretending to discreetly and respectfully ask their big-booty ho's for sex all evening.
