'Cause I was just called from this place for a job interview and the only position available is being part of the assembly line. I think it's for farm tractor equipment. I'm not entirely sure I want that sort of job, but my grandpa is the one who drove me up there while job hunting, and I do need a job. But I'm not sure if I could handle a job like that if speed and accuracy counts. I can be accurate, sure, but I have to take my sweet time about it. And the hours would be I think he said from 3:30PM to midnight, which is sorta in the wrong half of the day for me since any TV I watch is in the evening and with my grandparents. I've got three other applications to fill yet, but I'm not sure how long they'll take and one of them I think is for yet another assembly line (unless there's another opening there that isn't assemblage), this one for sporting equipement. And who knows if or when I'd get a response with those.

I honestly didn't think I'd be called by these guys. I had to take a math test, and I'm rusty enough that I wasn't able to do the last page, and the opening is compared with other applicants. I'm either the only applicant, other applicants did worse, or they're interviewing now and comparing tests later.

Well, you would probably have to go through training which is how you would learn to be accurate and fast.

I'm not sure...

yeah, they would probably do a bit of training with you.. and doing the same thing day in day out you would get fast pretty quick.

if nothing else - hey it's a job. and if there are other positions in the company that open up later you could apply. companies like hiring from within.

Like what the others said, experince will make you faster. Just give it some time and you'll get it. Hell, my current job it took me a good 6 months to be able to work as well as everyone else.

As far as taking the job...You should be honest with yourself, do you really want to do this?

I dunno, but eight dollars and however many cents it was per hour isn't easy to argue against.

You can work at an assembly line. While your self respect slowly flies apart form yourself and the only dignity you would feel would be in the $8 you make knowing that an assembly line can be boring while it tears your life and heart down into shreds while you hold on to the crumpled and smelly bills.

That was a little too dramatic...
Well, we can be sure it's not a FUN job... but it can't be that bad, either. If the money is really good, and you really need it, it's always an option.

I have done most jobs. :/ I'm 27 and had 20 jobs. I tried everything. Assembly can both be fun and boring. Almost mind numbing. All the parts will come down a belt. Everyone standing with you has a different job. Some people may be screwing things together, others maybe putting tags on things. And someone at the end will be putting them in boxes. The same job. All day long. But the nice thing is.. as your doing the same job you get to stand there and bull shiz with the other workers. So its kinda like hanging with friends all day as you just keep moving your hands.

This is the best way I can put it for ya. :)

Too bad I'm anti-social.

I sort of worked on an assembly line. I worked in a shrimp processing plant. For about 4 months of the first year I worked there, I stood infront of a table, on average, 6 1/2 hours a day, separating...
