I added a link to the top.

http://s43.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2JO1 ... 2TOAGE1I9K

There too.

It is to the HTML file which looks right.

I may not recode the example page unless I find the time.

If you think that will be helpful, wait for the full first draft!

And a reminder to EVERYONE to Vote in teh Poll for a full blown VFX Tutorial on the winning subject.

[rant]More than 60 views on this site and 2 votes is Disgraceful!

Shame on you Mag Types!

Shame!!

All this hard work to make a guide and nobody votes except for 2 people...

SHEESH! [/rant]

OK, I'm done ranting.

But it wouldbe nice to see a little more activity there.

Peace.

You do realize that if I hadn't (by chance) been on a computer with efficent internet my computer would've EXPLODED.
No, warning. I'm just opening a page, and then BOOOM IN MY FACE IS FIRE AND DEATH. You could've killed me and my computer with that huge image....warn us 56kers.

Anyway, good job. Good luck on the full version, you have a knack for explaining things appropriately.

What huge image?

Is just a dozen small images in an HTML table.

It opens fine on the 56k ancient piece of crap at work.

Still, Warning in place and thanks for pointing that out.

FIRE AND DEATH, huh?

Cool.

Peace.

I'm liking the work on this, Rodak. When you're done, I'd love to be able to host that on the Mag. *WINK WINK*

Also, the reason that the HTML is parsed so funky is that you have to have the code almost all together. The board counts the spaces in it, while a browser doesn't. Another thing, what program do you use to create html documents?

Either way, I wouldn't trust this board's html for more than general stuff.

Ok, good...I obviously thought it was one large one, and that would've just been horrible.

Thanks for not actually doing that then. Because FIRE AND DEATH is not that cool when it's actually occuring...and I know, I've got the scars to prove it from the last computer....

I had intended to submit this to all of the RPGMaker sites both as a First Draft and as a finished product (when the time comes). Feel free to host it as is if you like. The download has good HTML (I tried correcting the code in the post, but made it worse).

The HTML was written in Notepad. There are programs that do that? Huh...

I never use tools to make that stuff. I just open notepad and type.

But when I saved the thing as "Web Page Complete" to upload in a zip folder, it added much code I did not need.

Font commands at the start of every line, and other nonsense, made me think it was that process causing the problems. At least with the white text....

I use tons of empty lines to block out my code while writing it (since browsers don't read it) and uploaded this just after getting it looking good (no editing to clean up the code).

The download looks fine, and as intended. Except for the extra border where tables overlap. I'll clean that up for the final version.

See:

</center>

So just download it and see it proper!

NLY: I thought the boards automatic image resizing would have been a dead give-away that there was no way to post an image that large.

I was referring to the joke as being cool, not the FIRE AND DEATH!

I HATE FIRE AND DEATH!

And, of course, VOTE IN THE DARN POLL!!!

STILL only two votes, and I happen to know who one of them is and he is not a mag regular (I was online when he voted and we were the only two members online at the time, so it was a obvious).

Oh well, I guess you're free to not vote if you like.

But, by the same logic, I am free to harrass you about it!

Peace.

Maybe it would've been a dead give-away if I wasn't immediately shocked and awed at the size of the (mis-constrewed) image before me. I was left gapeing.

Honestly I did go to vote, it's just that normally I do it when I haven't logged on yet, so it gives me the results instead of an option. Then by the time I log in I forget thanks to those wretched spam halls...screw with your mind.

But I will vote...*grumbles*

That is a link to a preview of this effort.

No more download needed to preview what The Guide will deliver next week.

When it is done it shall be submitted to all major RPGMaker sites.

It is the last chance to make comments before the first draft will be too far along to be able to use them.

Peace.
