Here are a few things that weren't shown at MagCon:

For what it's worth, I thought the demo was really good. I've played the original Jester's Hunt and thought your take on it in RPG Maker 2 was really awesome. I remember you showing me some things while you are working on it that we weren't able to try during the con. I just remember being told to avoid things and just head to the boss. So I we kind of did just that.

I think it's really flattering for someone to have someone else like your game enough to put so many hours into re-creating it. It may not be exactly like it's original, but then again this is YOUR take on it. I think minor differences should be expected and not taken too seriously.

I really liked what I saw. Yeah, it was rough and didn't work exactly as promised, but it's obvious there's some good stuff here. I also agree with Lantis and say it's ok to make a few small changes if you want. It was cool to see how the game was recreated and just felt like it had the same spirit as the original.

I hadn't realized that you didn't make the original until this thread! Wow that is the coolest thing ever for someone to re-realize one's game. And I also now see what they meant about the title screens being similar and such. Man that is awesome for both parties involved in my opinion.

In my defense, Jester's Hunt is the one and only (good) game that I've actually completed, and I'm still quite proud of the accomplishment. It's only natural that I'm going to be nitpicky about how the remake is done.

OR you could be a bit humbled by the fact that someone thought it was just as good. So good, in fact, that they were inspired to attempt to re-create it on another platform. Ripping them a new one over small things (such as not seeing an ellipsis over a characters head) is a good way to dishearten them to the point of abandoning the project. I think you should take this as the highest compliment an RPG Maker user can give to another user. I think I'd be more inclined to agree with you if he was purposefully trying to make your game bad, but I highly doubt that's the case.

@Erika
I didn't know you were being nitpicky about it. I guess you have that right but I think that is unfortunate. I completely agree with Lantis here. Furthermore I would add that if this were me I really wouldn't want to see a pure remake anyways. A pure remake is in a sense simply seeing what your game would look like on a different RPGM. If you could develop a computer program to do this you would just plug it in and see the output. Cool, but missing something. I would rather see a remake with some changes here and there which shows how my game actually MEANT something to another person. They took it serious enough to find a majority worth keeping as is but also inspired to try to build from the groundwork you laid out on things they felt could be extracted from your source material. In a way it shows that there was more to your game then you even realized and that I think says more for it, not less.

Watch out, Drew. You may be getting a C&D letter before too long. ^_^

The way it was nit-picked, I wouldn't really mind. Honestly, I've never been more aggravated. You do realize Erika, that its almost as if your saying what I have is garbage, to be honest, I can give to clucks about your "nit-picking", it just shows the "REAL" Erika. I'm very displeased still that you deliberately was messing up, you know how it was suppose to be played, not test played. Honestly if I was there I would smack you, I didn't do all that work for you to be a PMSing asshole (although you lack parts for that.) as it stands im done with this, id rather make my own original game that I KNOW I would enjoy as well as the population. I've lost a good deal of respect for you Erika, you brought this upon yourself. Hope your happy.

^Whoa. That was a bit much. Yeah, too much I'd say.

@Erika
I went back and watched a little more and now I see what people are talking about in your nit-picking. I was pretty surprised but maybe in your defense I wonder if your reaction was more instinctual about something you have a lot of pride in rather than truly being bothered by Drew's take on it. Now that you think about it more and are no longer 'in the moment' of seeing someone else handle your material for the first time, are you really that upset with his mistakes? You don't have to answer that but I wonder if your comments were more misplaced than we may realize.

At any rate, good luck to you both. I still like the idea of it.

Not that I'm saying I want you to stop making this, but I'm a touch confused.
