Porico, the sealed town

"Many centuries ago, a small village near
Mount Hochi discovered that they were
different from other people.

Some of them controlled elements of
nature. Others could summon creatures
or had enchanced abilities like strength.

They hid these abilities, since they knew
they would be feared by ordinary people.
They tried hard to appear to live normally.

For the most part, they were successful,
until the dragon appeared, and sent
monsters to attack every living being.

Knowing hiding was no longer an option,
the villagers of Porico, our ancestors,
drove the monsters away from towns.

The strongest ones risked their lives
to prevent the dragon from leaving the
mountain.

However, the kings and queens of Koralia
began fearing these gifted people, and
claimed they were dangerous to humanity.

These people had no choice but to seal a
large chunk of land, keeping the rest of
the world away from the dragon."

Porico

Once a heavily huge town, Porico's population has dwindled to the point where half the town has been sealed and left to the mercy of monsters. However, the other half is full of lively people who busy themselves with the daily routines of life. The Royal Castle lies in the very heart of the town, and it's the home of the King and Queen inside the dome, along with other families of noble birth. The populated side of town lies south of this castle, leaving only 3 gates accessible to leave town.

One of two places Bill will be visiting a lot during his travels is the elementary school and Martha's Cafe.

While it might not be apparent, you can actually go inside the school from the side!

The school is run by one of Bill's long time friends, so she'll readily share any knowledge she has that might be helpful to him. This is the place to go to catch on any missed tutorial and maybe take one or two quizzes. Is Bill smarter than an elementary student?

Of course, any respectable town enclosed in a magical dome can't be complete without a place to socialize and eat!

Whenever a villager is out of their house, they lock their doors. A good place to look for them is in Martha's Cafe. You can be greeted by one of her employees in the tables outside, or you can go inside to talk to the big woman herself.

Martha is not only there to make fun of Bill, she also sells food that will come in handy for his journey. She may even ask for a favor or two in order to expand her business
