Well, traditionally, games end after the credits or after losing a battle. You just can't have a game over otherwise.

Basically, there is no way to force a game over. The only way to go to the gameover screen is to die in battle. The only way I really get around it is if something happens and I want the player to "game over" I'll black out the screen, Message 2 a "Game Over," and move location to the nearest save point.

Are you serious? Why wouldn't they include a feature to actually end the game? Did they use to end games a different way traditionally?

I'm sure part of it is you can't actually be dead outside of battle. You always have at least 1HP.

So there isn't any script where you can damage the character or the party 9999 HP during an event? If so are you saying you damage them and then in spite of your wishes it still adds 1HP to each party member?

You can damage them in events, but not kill them. That last health is one though cookie

Likewise, poison will drain your HP all the way to 1 and no furthur. There's also Stone, which Game Overs you in battle if everyone is afflicted with it, but it doesn't exist out of battle.

you cant do a game over outside of battle using the mechanics of a battle game over. you must either force an unwinable battles, or make an event game over that is noting like the battle game over.

Is there a way to set conditions for learning magic? I know you can do it with skills.

Well, you can set each character to learn a magic spell at specified levels pretty easily. Other than that, you can force-learn magic and special attacks through events, so you could make up your own system if you wanted.

How do you take a .psv file and turn it into a .GME?

to my knowledge, you can't. I don't think you can take an already converted PS3 game save from a virtual memory card and put it back on a PS1 memory card (through the converter). If you could, then it would be easy to just put that back in your dex drive and save it to your computer as said .GME

Yes, this is possible. But you need the PS3 Memory Card Adapter and a memory card. You back the save that's on the PS3 to the memory card, and then use the memory card as normal.

I.E. You could put the memory card into a Dexdrive and use it.

But that's the only way.

Please tell me there's a way to force remove a magic attack from a chracter through an event. If there is, I'm not seeing it.

DAMMMMMNNNNNN!!!!!!!!! Now I have to change around my class system again. That's what I get for planning everything out before I get to know everything about the software.

Is there a way to track levels? Like say the main character levels up and the other characters will be whatever level he is when they join the party. I'm not near my PS3 so I can't check. I figured it would be worth asking.

Thanks.

I don't think thats possible, a variation of it can be coded but tracking, don't think so.

Best you can do is set the new members' levels to the same that the player will likely reach them at. That's how other RPGs do it.
